In chapter 3 of David Bordwell's Narrative as a Formal System, Bordwell explains how to create a story with all of the necessary components. There always needs to be some sort of narration. This is either be directly spoken by a narrator or a character, or the narration can be inferred in a silent film if there aren't any words. There's a difference between a plot and a story. The plot is mainly the events of one particular story. On the other hand, story is the sum of all of the plots. An example of plot is just the events of Star Wars A New Hope where Luke Skywalker travels everywhere to eventually duel with Darth Vader. A story would be the whole complete plots that happen throughout the whole course of the Star Wars series. I think that a film's plot have various distinct components because without them, the story would just go on and on and on, not being able to finish. There should always be a certain time, place, beginning, middle and an end.

In Methods of Montage, it explains how there are different ways to create a montage. An example is a rhythmic montage. This is when the scene changes according to the change in music, i.e. drums. The difference between a tonal and an overtonal montage is that the overtonal montage seeks to give you this physiological perception, while tonal montage gives you the emotional feel of a piece. I think that there should be more studies/research on overtonal montages because I think that there could be so many more uses for it.

David Bordwell - Narrative as a Formal System every thing we tell or dreams on night are can be tell like story. film tells the story. narrative movies are most common in fictional films. i like the way he wrote about Time. For example, causes and effects are basic on narrative. that is main thing and lead the movies beginning to end.

Sergei Eisenstein has written five Methods of montage. All the methods is about how director can make people feel differently when they watched cinema. the most I like and agree with his methods is tonal methods because if every movie scene of frame has tone of music that will change the people mind, way of noticing or feeling.

Kino-Eye I agree that the current movies use camera to show us what with our eyes we cannot see, watching a movie is something great because you escape from reality a couple of hours and with this revolution within the use of the camera called kino -eye movies not only show us a story but a complete picture surrounding the characters. if you only capture what the human eye can see would be limiting the possibilities of the camera to capture everything possible is best for later to edit and get the best work. that is why there is a big difference between the theater and the cinema, in the theater you can only see what happens on the stage you capture only what your eyes can and that is the magic of the camera.

Cinema acknowledges the realms of history , philosophy , literature and the other sciences and talks about the practices of embalming and explains the origins of painting and sculpture and gives you the process of preserving corpses ; The Egyptian way . Cinema owes virtually nothing to a scientific Spirit .

In Kino Eye, I love how Dziga Vertov mentions that our eyes cannot improve, while a camera can continuously become more perfect. The way I see it is.....they are both related in an inverse manner. As we age, our eye sight becomes worse and worse, while a camera continues to improve because of technology. He also mentions "the ear does not spy, the eye does not eavesdrop". I think this sort of means that each feature of a camera has its own unique function and can't be changed into a different function.

dziga vertov kino-eye is about experimenting on camera and talks about Radio-ear-the montage "l hear!" Kino-eye-the montage "l see!". The camera can be used as eye to make a movie look like real or direct looking at the people on live/real life. camera can talk many position to visual than human eyes.

I love going to raves. The first rave that I went to was with my friend Tim along with his friend from high school. I spontaneously bought a ticket to Foam Wonderland. I bought the ticket so that I could go see my number 1 favorite DJ and producer, 3LAU. This was during my sophomore year of college. I remember going to the concert in Tim’s car. And we were blasting songs from 3LAU. At that time, there were so many unreleased songs that I wished to hear at the concert. So, I played the a few of unreleased songs on the Aux cord. I got a hold of the unreleased songs from Soundcloud because of other people uploading them from the other 3LAU concerts that they went to. I also remember that this was during the time when passing the aux cord was a serious thing. Now, everyone just connects their phones to the car’s Bluetooth system to play their songs on Spotify. Oh yeah, this is the era where everyone is using Spotify as their main source of music. Back to the main story. ...

Metaphors on Vision is about the language of everyday life through vision. Every thing that he talks about fundamentally refer back to the topics of "birth, sex, death, and the search for God." He is basically talking about how powerful our eyes are in a sense that we, individually, can see things through our own perceptions and make different conclusions about things. For example, he points out cave paintings and how they were used to show fear. It's very interesting that our minds can comprehend a language just from pictures and/or moving pictures, in this case, cinema. Since pictures do not have any words, they make us think and say what we want to conclude about them. After that, they also sort of make us gather around other people to make a conversation about it/them.

Today's reading in the Ontology of the Photographic Image is quite interesting. It briefly conveys all of the purposes of images and cinema presentation throughout ancient history. Images were used to portray different social aspects and cultures in order to show a little bit about how they worked. There are different ways to show and portray an image; they are paintings, photographs, and now, film. I think that even though photography has its boundaries as to what an image can portray, people are continuously looking for new ideas and new ways to push the boundaries of what photography can convey. Realism is one thing. But, there are so many editing software out there that people can manipulate their own pictures to how they see fit. You can really control the meaning of a photo just with a few clicks on the computer or phone.

I like the book because it describes the technology that use to create a cinema, it has given most information about making movie kind of real, fooling eyes, the lens of a camera, and it also talks about panting. youtube link; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEhwcSmV93Y I THINK THIS video has used most of the things that we have discussed in class and the book has described.

Welcome video makers! This blog will be where you will post your responses to some readings. Keep an eye on the syllabus and listen for prompts in class to read certain articles (posted to eCampus) and post your responses here as a new post (not in the comments of this post). These articles are provided to get us thinking about different aspects of working with images and to help us along the way. Think of this as a place to record your thoughts and share with one another before we discuss the articles in class. Looking forward to a great summer term with you all!
