Today's reading in the Ontology of the Photographic Image is quite interesting. It briefly conveys all of the purposes of images and cinema presentation throughout ancient history. Images were used to portray different social aspects and cultures in order to show a little bit about how they worked. There are different ways to show and portray an image; they are paintings, photographs, and now, film.

I think that even though photography has its boundaries as to what an image can portray, people are continuously looking for new ideas and new ways to push the boundaries of what photography can convey. Realism is one thing. But, there are so many editing software out there that people can manipulate their own pictures to how they see fit. You can really control the meaning of a photo just with a few clicks on the computer or phone.
